Why it worked
The video works due to its comedic absurdity and the unexpected twist at the end. The initial scene of a boy trying to clean a plate with dirt, then applying it to his face, creates a sense of confusion and humor. The sudden cut to him appearing fairer, accompanied by a laugh, delivers a punchline that is both surprising and entertaining, playing on a common desire for fairer skin in a humorous, exaggerated way.
