What Was Left Behind — Part 87 In between everything that was happening, about four months passed. Life had slowly settled into a routine. One day, I finally found some time to go to my husband’s bank. I needed to understand what was left in his account what the process would be and what documents I would need. But at the bank I found out something I wasn’t expecting. My husband had taken a loan of 3 lakh against his car. Around 11,000 was being deducted every month. At that time there was around 3.2 lakh left in his account. And honestly… when I found out about the loan I finally understood how difficult his financial situation had become in those last three years. For so many years, I had been carrying the responsibilities on my own. And somehow, in just two or three years almost everything had reached a point where there was very little left. The responsibility I had been carrying for so many years… he couldn’t manage for even those last two or three years. It was difficult to accept. But I didn’t have time to sit and think about it. I came home and discussed everything. Then I spoke to some of my friends. I told them, I need to sell both the cars. Whatever I get I’ll use it to clear the loan. Within a month I managed to sell both cars. But because one was around 22 years old and the other was around 13 years old, I received only 2.30 lakh for both. The moment I received the money, the first thing I did was clear the loan. The outstanding amount was around 2.15 lakh. And just like that… after selling both our cars there was almost nothing left. I had never imagined that things would reach this point. But there was something else too. After all of this, I still had to keep informing my sister in law about everything. Every step.
